What are the opening hours?

Monday closed. Tuesday 18:00–00:00, dinner only. Wednesday to Saturday 12:00–00:00. Sunday 12:00–18:00. The dinner kitchen closes at 22:30 — drinks until close.

Do you take walk-ins?

Yes — especially at the bar and on the esplanade. For dinner inside, booking ahead helps.

Reservations

We're a small house and tables are turned regularly. Reservations are held for 15 minutes. If you're running late, please call us on +351 21 397 1540. Booking in a quick lunch? A note in your reservation helps us seat you well. Hoping for a long, lazy lunch or dinner? Let us know in advance so we can allow more time for your table.

Cancellations

Please don't cancel last minute. And please please don't just ghost a booking.

Can we hire the room?

O Palmeiral is available for exclusive hire — any occasion, any size. No hire fee; minimum spend from €1,000 for lunch, €1,500 for dinner. Groups of thirteen or more are always private hire. More details on the private dining page, or get in touch.

How many people fit?

Up to twenty in the dining room, with more outside on the esplanade. Groups of thirteen or more are always private hire.

What about lunch?

Lunch runs Wednesday to Sunday from noon. The daily special — a rotating dish from the Portuguese and Italian kitchen — is €15 with bread and olives. The full menu is available throughout.

Gluten-free

The kitchen operates almost exclusively gluten-free. The only dishes with gluten: the tortellini, the tiramisù, the bread (gluten-free available) and the grissini.

Are dogs welcome?

Dogs are welcome on the esplanade.

Parking

The nearest paid car park is Parque Largo de Jesus (Telpark by Empark), about five minutes on foot.
