The Room
About
The building at Travessa de São José 1 first opened as a neighbourhood grocery shop in 1870, and has been welcoming the people of Príncipe Real since.
The floor tiles, the wooden cupboards and the proportions of the room hold memories of this space from long before O Palmeiral opened.
The Art Vitrine
Curated by Lisbon artist Manuel Caldeira.
The central vitrine at O Palmeiral has become a window onto the local art scene — seasonal installations and gallery collaborations, changing through the year.
Every piece is for sale. Price on request. Get in touch if you'd like your work considered for a future show.

The Kitchen
What the Market Brings, What the Season Suggests.
Tortellini in brodo. Pint of prawns with homemade piri-piri. Aubergine Parmigiana. Pork chop. Bacalhau à lagareiro. Suppliers are local and dishes are all home made.
The kitchen operates almost exclusively gluten-free. The only dishes with gluten: the tortellini, the tiramisù, the bread (gluten-free available) and the grissini.

After the Coffee
Ammazzacaffè.
The Italian way of finishing things properly. A small glass of something strong, served after coffee. The name means "kill the coffee."
We rotate what's inside: Grappa, Fernet, Amaretto, Montenegro, Brandy Vecchia Romagna, Aguardente S. Francisco. Ask what's pouring today.
